THE FLAVOURS OF RAIN TREE
NOSHtrekker co-hosted a pop-up book and food experience with Mahita Vas, author of ‘Rain Tree,’ a novel set in Singapore on the cusp of Independence. Guests discussed the content of the book and ate food featured in the novel. The intimate event brought history to life and provided an opportunity for book lovers to experience a taste of a fictional place.
FIRE & DAYS OF INDEPENDENCE
A group of museum docents were able to get a first-hand account of Singapore’s early history over a Peranakan-Cantonese lunch with our NOSH Host, Mei Lian Chan and her father, the first fire chief in Singapore. Conversation touched on historical events and politics, to local communities, personalities and, of course, food.
