Reds and indigo, a table filled with colour and more greenery

We might already be the second month of the year, but it’s never too late to start thinking about bringing a fresh touch to your table. Decorating is an important part of NOSHtrekker as we are all about creating an ambience and an environment where people can enjoy each other’s company and dine on delicious food. We talk to our in-house stylist, Kara Butterfield, on what trends we will see more of in 2018 and what she’ll be buying to spruce up her own home this year.

Trends for the New Year

What is one trend in interiors that you’ve noticed at the start of this year?

There is a big trend towards more colour, warmer tones, brighter and strong shades in interiors. Lots of green, indigo blue, violet purple and bright red dominate contemporary interior furnishings and inspire decor design throughout 2018.

Bringing Colour to the Table

How can we translate this into a table setting?

Create a colour story from the plate to the table. Match glasses with the table linen and look for decorative vessels that can double as a serving dish. A white serving bowl can sit inside a lacquered coloured bowl for serving but still makes it food safe.
